What is this list? When a tax-delinquent property is sold at a tax deed auction, it usually sells for more than the amount of unpaid taxes, fees, and other costs owed to the county. The extra money generated from the sale is called overbids, overages, excess proceeds or surplus funds and it is due back to the property owner who just lost their home. You can help them put in a claim in exchange for a percentage of the surplus amount.
